all in a line, one man sits, one white man stands, one asian woman stands, one white woman stands, and one black woman stands, all before music stands, in a theatre space.

Funny, Like HAHA. (or, A Play About A Rape Joke)

70 mins: 2W, 1M, 1GN

Lily Schuttman is in her dressing room, preparing for her first comedy special, when Erin Li comes in demanding answers. See, Lily spoke to the Times defending Joe Ainsley. Joe's a self-identified male feminist, comedy mentor to Lily--and the man Erin’s accused of sexually assaulting her. After a tense fight, Erin gets ready to walk out of Lily's life. And then the Rape Joke Lily was going to tell springs to life, trapping them in the dressing room.

A dark comedy about internalized misogyny, white feminism, who gets to be heard, and who gets to be a joke.
